Takashima

Aloysius Keaton. Everyone calls him Keaton. Employee of Takashima Industries. He prefers to work at night, which makes him an outcast among his coworkers. He loves data and digging into anomalies. He’s interested in Miss Camille Starfall but hasn’t asked her out yet.

The doll: Keaton, Elfdoll Special K, SD 63 cm tall, Homme skin, company face-up, regular and fist hands.

Miss Camille Starfall. Her job is not well defined but if Keaton is at the bottom of the chain of command, Camille is one link above Keaton. She’s quiet, efficient, keeps her head down, and gets the job done.

Sam Doyle (left) and Petyon Allard. Corporate drones. Peers of Keaton. They love to gossip and flirt with Alden.

The dolls: Sam is a Volks F19, SD normal skin 56 cm tall. Peyton is a Volks F34, SD white skin 56 cm tall.

Alden Crowe: reports to Maude. Team Supervisor. Master of CYA. Interested in pair-bonding with Camille but corp policy frowns on inter-department romances but not on shameless flirting.

The doll: Ethan, Dollshe Bernard (OE) on Pure Body, Fresh skin, 70 cm tall.

Maude Kilane: Manager who reports to Miss Wellington. Even better at CYA than Alden. She’s not going down for her team’s mistakes.

The doll: Dollstown Lucille head, Fresh skin on Volks NS SD13 body, 56 cm tall.

Miss Wellington: the ultimate corporate executive. Technically, she’s an SVP but acts as if she reports to no one. She’s gonna get his job, no matter what it takes or who she steps on with her stilettos to get there.

The doll: Wellington, Sybarite Generation X. 43 cm tall.

Mercenaries

Alec Mifune: He’s the fixer, the guy to call when you have a problem that can’t be solved by legal means. If you can get his number. Good luck with that.

The doll: Dollshe SA Hound, Oriental skin, re-issued Hound body. 70 cm tall.

Ginger Corsair: experienced ronin. Her speciality is using two katana. When possible, she’ll knock opponents out rather than cut them to ribbons, but don’t press your luck.

The doll: Ginger, Elfdoll Rainy Soah, in normal skin, 61 cm in her butt-kicking platform boots.

Hiroyuki Akira. Takashima is his first run but he is an experienced hardware technician. He can fix, break or modify just about anything. Knows enough security coding to be dangerous.

The doll: Hiro, B&G Doll Rin, normal yellow skin, default faceup. 60 cm tall.

Lucius and Gauis Pinkham. Experienced. Ruthless. No job is too small. Gaius has the brains and Lucius has the looks. They make lots of credits.

Julius: A fresh recruit who wants to become a Pinkham. Specializes in breaking into corporate data systems and building security.

Dylan Greysnayl, aka Chalk is experienced mage who took the Takashima job as a favor to Ginger. Specializes in protection and diversion spells.

The doll: Diana, Volks F48/Rinon in Sunlight skin, long legs, 57 cm tall.

Brick Facade. Private detective. He named himself as when he was a child; doesn’t remember what he was called before. One of the few to escape the Spiritwood Work Camp. Not very bright but smart enough to use a variety of names when he’s on a case.

Angel Kisume. Born worker class in the Clyne sector. His mom was wrongly accused of stealing corp data but she swore to him that it was her manager, who wouldn’t leave her alone. One afternoon, the manager backed her into a corner. She slapped him and ran back to her flat. The next day, she was banished for stealing data that she didn’t have access to but her manager did. The manager was more valuable to the corp. Angel snuck out of the worker housing and lives in a squat at the fringe of the Clyne sector. He’s sworn an oath to get back at Trancescape.

Angel specializes in intrusion and data extraction without leaving a trace. He’s agile and knows the Trancescape campus and can easily evade pursuers.

He’s a caffcaff cart worker in the Clyne sector, hiding in plain sight. A pretty good pickpocket but he’s best at chatting corp workers up – most give away their passwords for free by spilling their guts while waiting for their caffcaff. His favorite saying: “After 165 years of computing, the most common password is still 12345.”

Angel is in a relationship with Lucy 2Trees.

Lucy 2 Trees. Born in the Clyne sector to a worker-class family. Her parents were sedated, test subjects in the first wave of net jacking. They were used to power the Trancescape network, The Archive. When their bodies were 75% spent, they were unpacked from the Archive but had trouble adjusting to meat space and died less than a year after their release.

Lucy had a sister, Fernanda, who died suddenly. The official statement was pneumonia, but Lucy never believed this. She’s tried to find the truth or bring down Trancescape.

She has technology powers that seem like magic – she can access hardware without implants.

Lucy is in a relationship with Angel Kisume.

Trancescape

Cassandra Rose: Friends with Kaneda, Ethan and Lizzie. Cassandra is smart, quiet, very sweet. Loyal to her friends but has a strained relationship with her parents because she feels they don’t speak up for themselves.

The doll: Volks F19 SD13 body, normal skin, unknown face-up artist. 59 cm tall.

Ethan Quatermass: Friends with Kaneda, Cassandra and Lizzie. shy at first, but opens up when he gets to know someone. He’s very protective of his friends. Smart, mostly serious. He and Kaneda work well together. Their project is to improve the corp neural net interface.

The doll: Volks Black Cat Lucas, SD13 body, normal skin, face-up by Morbidollz. 60 cm tall.

Kaneda Jones: Friends with Ethan, Cassandra and Lizzie. Kaneda is quiet and intense. Ethan thinks up the scheme; Kaneda makes the plan, timeline and sets it in motion. They’re friendly, persuasive and know everyone at Trancescape.

The doll: Narae, French resin, tan skin, face-up by Veridian House. 59 cm tall.

Lizzie. A sweet gal. Always willing to pitch in whatever needs doing. She has a particularly high skill with computer equipment, which remains a rare and sought after skill in the Post Cloud Burst world of the Free Lands.

One day, Lizzie disappeared. The adults said nothing. Her parents looks haunted but weren’t talking.

Urban inhabitants

Athena Chloe Hill. [//data from birth through adulthood corrupted//]. Now, fueled by a burning desire for retribution, Athena’s singular motivation is to reclaim what was stolen from her. She operates in the shadows, a master manipulator orchestrating events from afar. Her plans are intricate, her patience immense, and her ruthlessness legendary. Maisie Marx, the Sibyl. Known as The Sibyl at the Temple on Garden Terrace at Hastings. She is mercurial, silly, can’t be believed. Her prophesies seem ridiculous but are reported to come true. Other than that, Very little is known about Maisie because she has a history of making up her personal history with each telling. Her favorite story is that she’s a descendent of a Marx Brother, but which one changes with her mood in the moment. It is assumed that she is single and a virgin due to her position at the Temple.
