Hi art friends.
Apologies for the radio silence. It’s due to a few things: household projects, work, family business and, well, a creative slump after finishing Takashima. It’s been such a long time since my last large creative project that I’d forgotten about the fallow period that follows.
It was a bit disheartening at first, but I just went with it and focused on other things. Last week, I put some time in fiddling with some old flower images. That piqued my interest to get out my camera and do some creative photography. So expect images in the near future.
And now, the news: my group’s Short Run application was accepted! The print version of Takashima will debut on November 4th in the Fisher Pavilion at the Seattle Center. For details, visit the Short Run website.
I received a print proof of Takashima several weeks ago and agreed with Patrick, one of my reviewers, that some of the text was difficult to read. Over last weekend, I updated the text for 3 characters: Keaton, Camille and Lucius.
The text change affected the cover. Not a classic graphic novel cover, I know, I just love this image of Keaton & Camille, so I went with it.

The preparations for Short Run continue. I’ll submit my order for the first edition print run of Takashima and create a promotional post card for a takeaway. I might even go a little crazy and get some stickers, because everyone loves stickers!
That’s all for now. Expect more images when you see them. Happy creating!
