Life Book Week 43 with Christy Tomlinson. by Tenuki Handcrafts on Flickr. I'm still working on Life Book. I made this page in one of my journals and liked her so much that I decided to make a 9 x 12 version. The first layer of the page is a journal entry about my art … Continue reading Life Book Week 43

This week's Life Book lesson is with Tam. One of the benefits of taking 3 classes at once is that I can work on the lessons for each. When one piece reaches a stage where it needs to dry, I can work on another piece. Today,I finished the Life Book piece, started my Nymph for … Continue reading Life Book Week 41 Moon Whale
By the time you read this post, 2014 and Life Book 2014 are more than half over! I've lagged behind on my Life Book posts and today's post is Week 19, taught by Danielle Daniel. Our theme was honoring your inner world and it was another fun week spent exploring painting with acrylics. This is not the finished … Continue reading Life Book Week 19
With Traci Baustista. I love her style and book "Doodles Unleased." I completed my page and art journal page easily, and have been spending the rest of this week working through Doodles Unleashed. Also, having lots of fun with Daler Rowney FW acrylics inks! I like the way they sit on the page when dropped, … Continue reading Week 16
Week 15 of Life Book is Tam's Quirky Animals. I loved these little critters and made quite a few. Here are my Quirky Animal Totem Pole and class journal entry.
I am having a ball drawing Tam's quirky animals. I have made a bunch since Monday but this bird is the current favorite. I also got a new device this week - a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Or, as we like to call it , a Fablet. And it is pretty FAB. Edited with #aviary … Continue reading Week 15 Quirky Animals
I finally finished the Week 12 of Life Book. a dimensional mixed media piece taught by Anna Dabrowska. I love her work and this technique, although I admit to struggling with it, at first. The theme for March was Connections and my intention was to celebrate my connection to art by my dad. Dad took … Continue reading Connection to Art
With Noir City 2014, I got a bit behind on my art classes. I completed Life Book Week 7, Jane Davenport's project, but only the art journal version. I decided today to work on Week 8, Alena Hennessy's abstract meditation on the soul. It is a drizzly, grey Seattle winter day, perfect for a bit of … Continue reading LB Week 8
lifebookweek6_20140209_132731_v1, a photo by Tenuki Handcrafts on Flickr. I didn't work the mermaid into my 9X12 version of Week 6's Spray Ink Love, but I like her just the same. I used my front facing Jane Girl stencil, Daler Rowney inks, Neocolor 2s, Peerless watercolors, Prisma pencils, and Pitt pen in black.
This week's Life Book lesson was all about drippy spray inks. Tam used the Dylusions inks, but the colors are not my style, so as much as I like my version, which was done with Peerless watercolors, I wanted to try the Daler Rowney acrylic inks I saw at my fave art supply store Artist … Continue reading She Dreams of a Mermaid
