Hot News About Takashima

Hello art friends! It’s taken me 6 years but I am thrilled to announce that “The Takashima Extraction” is finished!

When I wrote the story outline, I had no idea how I was going to create the images or how to compile them into a graphic novel format. It certainly looks nothing like I expected when I started creating test compositions, but that is the way with creative projects: they take on a life of their own.

Here is a snapshot of Takashima by the numbers:

How to get your hands on Takashima

The digital version of Takashima is available as a pdf to purchase in my shop, here at Tenuki HQ. In order to ensure the integrity of the text and images, it is best read on a laptop, tablet or desktop monitor. It’s very difficult to read on a phone. Update 7/2: I was able to reduce the pdf file down to 42MB.

A limited number of print copies of Takashima will debut at the Short Run Festival at the Seattle Center’s Fisher Pavilion on Saturday, November 8, 2023. I’ll be sharing a table with some artistic friends. Short Run is a free one day festival. You can check out the event details here.

Copies of Takashima may be available at a selection of Seattle area comic book stores. Stay tuned for details.

I’ve curated The Takashima Extraction Collection, a selection of scenes that are available for purchase as prints and other merch in my RedBubble shop. Over the next month or so, I’ll be adding giclee and canvas prints here at Tenuki HQ as well as prints and merch in my Society6 shop.

I realize Takashima is not everyone’s cup of tea but if you enjoy futuristic crime drama with a noir twist, I hope you’ll check it out or share links with your your friends who might enjoy it.
