Basic digital planner
Over the years, I’ve tried so many paper and digital planners, in search of The Perfect Planner. What worked best for me, the style I go back to time and again, is a basic planner inspired by an online class I took from Jenniebellie for creative goal setting.
I developed my own version of Jenniebellie’s system using Keynote and commercially licensed imagery I have written permission to use.
I personally don’t like tabs in a digital planner because I use a small Gen 6 iPad, so screen real estate is at a premium. Each page has links to the first page of the sections listed below. In Goodnotes, use the Favorites to bookmark the current week.
The pdf file is fully linked. Each page has a link to the 4 main sections:
- The Year By Month. Clicking anywhere in the month box will take you to that month’s summary page.
- Weekly – the first page of the month has space for highlights and lessons learned from the past month; the weekly view has similar space. This is an undated planner but organized by month, starting with January.
- Lists – I have large handwriting so there is plenty of space between lines for either typing or hand writing.
- Grid pages – light grid to allow for whatever you want to use the pages for: doodling, virtual stickies, journaling etc.
It is a pdf file and has been tested in Goodnotes, using an iPad and Gen 1 Apple Pencil. However, any pdf annotation program should work.
Instructions: download the file. Install it on your device. This is an undated planner that you can start at any time. Save a copy and rename it so you can re-start a new version any time.
