Hi ho art friends.

Today is another trio of flowers from my July 10 neighborhood walk. All images captured with my Canon Rebel T1i, Canon 50 mm lens and Kenko 12 mm extension tube on ISO 200 and using manual focus, shuttle speed and aperture.

The images were processed in Lightroom using 2 Lil Owls Studio Tiny Details class presets and overlays.

Once in Photoshop, I duplicated the layer and ran high pass, set around 7. Added a transparent layer with Awake class custom brushes from Amanda Rockwell and Kate Pertiet, set to multiply and very low opacity to create a grungy vignette and add texture.

Purple Flowers #1 used class preset 1 with overlay 30

Purple Flowers #2 used preset 20 and overlay 4.

Purple Flowers #3 is my favorite of this batch. It wasn’t until I viewed this image onscreen that I saw all the tiny hairs, petal textures, wee buds and spider web. It used preset 32 and overlay 9. This one also used a custom Maya word stamp from Awake class goodies.

I’m very happy with this photoshoot. There is one or two more posts from this field trip.

Happy creating!
