Hi ho art friends.
I’m still extracting Takashima images, so nothing new to report on that project.
Today’s post is a cute lil thing using two overlays from the May 2 Lil Owls Texture Club and my own macro photos of Owen, my Volks YoSD and friend.
The original plan for this shoot was to set up a still life. The background is a room divider screen behind a very small side table that I draped tapestry fabric over. Next, I shot a variety of items, including the little bird. On a whim, I wondered how Owen’s size compared to the bird. They were a cute pair and I took a number of photos of them.
This one is my favorite.
I’m currently enjoying the 2 Lil Owls editing method of tweaking the image (levels, curves, whatever is needed), duplicating the image and running an unsharp mask, duplicating that image and running a high pass set to overlay.
I’ve added my own step to this process: I create a layer from the visible layers and run a Filter Gallery filter on the new layer. In this case, I chose Watercolor, then added the 2 Lil Owls layers over top the final image.
Back to extracting. Not the most exciting part of the process, but it needs to be done.
