Worried that I’d run out of space to store paintings, I started my working on canvas board. Mermaid Blues is one of my least mixed, mixed media paintings, using acrylic paints, Golden Green Interference, and Pitt Pens.

This is another mermaid inspired from an art journal page. She started as a face near the bottom of the page. When I finished her face, I thought, hey, why not add a tail and call her a mermaid?

I was enchanted with Quin Magenta, Pthalo Blue and Ptalo Green.  These are still three of my favorite colors.

I used the Interference Green in her eyes as well, which gives them an otherworldly look, don’t you think?

Looking at the close up of her tail, I also smattered around some Interference Red.

Mermaid Blues is for sale, $145. Price includes shipping. Ready for framing.
