Hi ho, lovely readers!
Teesha Moore has been an inspirational artist to me for a very long time. Long before I got into mixed media art. I really enjoyed Mermaid Circus last year and I’ve subscribed to the Artstonauts club, which is a wealth of inspiration and collage sheets. I was poking around youtube recently and stopped on her & Tracy’s channel and found Fabric Journal Part 1 was immediately hooked and watched all of the series.
And then dug into my fabric stash and started cutting squares and rectangles and sewing them into little pillows. The quilting stage is going to take me a long time since I have to stitch left-handed, due to my right thumb injury.
I have my bag of pillows in the living room so I can work on one or two while watching tv. I need to pick up some sheets of watercolor paper to make Teesha’s Amazing 16 page journal. I’ll keep quilting the pillows until I have enough to stitch them together for the art journal cover.
This is going to be one of those slow projects so you can expect a progress or two in the future. Back in the day, I would have cranked a sewing project like this out in no time, but the old hands just aren’t up to it these days. The new normal, I suppose.
I’d love to know what you’re working on. Drop me a line or link and I’ll check out your work
